Tips on living static electricity

You know what?
The static electricity generated by people when combing hair is about 3000V

Why can't I feel it?
Because static electricity is a relatively static charge, which accumulates on the surface of an object and does not flow as easily as the current in a metal conductor, it is called static electricity.

How can I feel it?
When objects with different electrostatic potentials are close to or directly contacted with each other, they will cause charge transfer, thus forming electrostatic discharge, which is also commonly called ESD. It is the abbreviation of Electrostatic Discharge in English, namely ElectroStatic Discharge. Electrostatic discharge has the characteristics of high voltage, strong electric field, instantaneous large current, etc.

Hazards of ESD

The static electricity cannot be seen or touched. Only when enough charges are accumulated and the discharge conditions are met, can there be a sense of electric shock or a weak sound when discharging instantaneously.
However, a very small "electrostatic discharge" can cause irreversible circuit damage to our precision devices. For example, the GMR head can only withstand 5V static electricity.

Hazards of ESD (electrostatic discharge)

• Sparks may occur during electrostatic discharge, which may easily cause fire, explosion and other safety accidents.
• Electrostatic discharge will breakdown the device and damage the device, thus reducing the reliability of the device.
• Electrostatic discharge will radiate radio waves with frequency, causing electronic interference and affecting the normal operation of devices.

Electrostatic Protection Measures for Precision Devices

01 Electrostatic protection measures for precision devices generally include:

Device internal protection method: usually, the protection method is to make the protection circuit in the part related to the input terminal, and the common method is to use diode, triode, zener diode and spark gap protection;
Device external protection method: the simplest method is to connect a resistor in series or a diode in parallel at the input end of the device;
